Josh Johnson grew up in Southeast Alaska aboard his family’s commercial fishing vessels. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he was inspired by his time on the water to pursue a successful career as a businessman and boat owner.
Josh is a USCG-licensed captain who enjoys cruising aboard his Diesel Duck 462. He and his wife purchased the boat in Hawaii and sailed her back home across the Pacific to Alaska.
Years of deep-water experience in often treacherous seas have honed Josh’s boating skills across multiple disciplines. These experiences required resourceful thinking and sharpened his abilities to prepare and make decisions. During countless days offshore, he has developed a deep respect for the ocean and the vessels that traverse it.
Josh further expanded his nautical expertise by becoming a SAMS marine surveyor, primarily evaluating commercial fishing vessels. His recreational power boating clientele is also growing. Recently, clients have approached him to offer yacht brokerage services, bringing him full circle to joining the same JMYS team that helped launch his trawler ownership journey.
Josh is a good listener and a natural leader. He is highly accomplished on the water and happiest aboard boats.
