Arcadia J is hull 14 (out of 82) and is a seasoned Alaska cruiser serving as a nomadic platform for nearly a dozen summer seasons.  Her fourth owners purchased her in San Diego, CA and then headed north to their home waters where they enjoy fishing and cruising.

This is an “Alaskanized” Nordhavn 46 outfitted for exploring the coastal outdoors.  She has served as a floating platform for hunting and fishing adventures and has thrived in the rugged northwest environment.

Arcadia J was built with the original Plan A “offshore” layout. The lower-level accommodations are accessible from the saloon (which leads down to the owner stateroom) or via the pilothouse forward stairway.  This is a two stateroom, and a two head layout. The owner stateroom is amidships and there is a separate guest stateroom forward. Each stateroom has an adjoining head and shower.

You enter the saloon through a sliding door from the cockpit.  The interior enjoys a balance between white laminate and teak joinery. The soles are teak and holly. The entry level connects the saloon and galley and provides access down to the staterooms and up to the pilothouse.  The saloon has a C-shaped dining arrangement to port across from two chairs straddling an entertainment cabinet to starboard. The galley is entered directly from the saloon and is outfitted with the necessary appliances for preparing meals at rest and underway.

The pilothouse has multiple windows and sliding doors – allowing great visibility, easy egress and comfortable ventilation. There is a watch berth aft, fronted by a settee with table.  The navigation electronics are easy to operate.

On deck the aft cockpit transitions along the starboard side of the saloon with a protected side deck that leads forward to the Portuguese bridge.  The foredeck has a built-in locker and features the windlass and related ground tackle.  Above the saloon is the boat deck, which is accessed by the cockpit ladder.  The mast supports the dry stack exhaust pipe run from the main engine. The boom serves as the dinghy hoist

The Nordhavn 46 is the model that launched this world-famous brand of trawler designs. Her performance pedigree is unquestioned routine ocean crossings happening at any given time and several sisterships have completed globetrotting circumnavigations.
