Andrea Plata grew up in Mexico City, surrounded by beautiful museums, galleries, good food, and a variety of things to do. She has always been passionate about coffee, photography, and helping others.

She later moved to San Diego, California, to attend Point Loma Nazarene University, where she studied Marketing, a perfect mix of creativity and business. Living near the coast sparked a new love for the beach lifestyle. Andrea started surfing, snorkeling, and swimming in the open ocean, embracing all that Southern California had to offer.

Over the past three years, Andrea has gained marketing experience in higher education, agencies, government contracting, non-profits, and the food and beverage industry. She enjoys combining data insights with creative ideas. Her skills include website development, social media strategies, email marketing, and lifecycle marketing. While new to the boating world, she is excited to learn about yachts and help JMYS grow through marketing and website projects.

Andrea joined JMYS in August 2025 and is currently based in Mexico City but will soon return to Southern California as part of JMYS team. And if you ever need to speak with someone in Spanish, don’t worry, she’s also a skilled translator.
