Mark and his wife, Catherine, are full-time cruisers aboard their Nordhavn 55, What’s Next. Their boat name is synonymous with their approach to life, always looking forward and asking, “What’s Next?

Mark’s introduction to boating started when his wife looked at the empty dock in their backyard and said, “Honey, you should go to the boat show.” That journey led them to several years of boating with their kids on Lake Norman in North Carolina where they joined the Safe Harbor Peninsula Yacht Club, and Mark served as Power Fleet Captain and Director of Education and Safety.

Soon thereafter, they found themselves chartering a catamaran in the British Virgin Islands and asking themselves how they could live that lifestyle every day. That quest guided them to the purchase of a Regal 42 Fly, and a move to the North Carolina coast for more adventurous boating, and the purchase of their Nordhavn 55. Along the coast, you may find them at their homeport of Southport, NC, where they support the Oak Island Water Rescue Team.

Mark and Catherine enjoyed their yacht buying experience with Jeff Merrill and John Hoffman so much that Mark decided to join the team and help others find their next adventure as well. Recently retired from a 25-year career at Apple, Mark’s approach to working with customers is that the experience should feel like you’re sitting together enjoying a casual cup of coffee.
