A new Postcard in Paradise has arrived from the fjords of Greenland, with adventures continuing into the Mediterranean.
After reading our Truth or Dare newsletter, Cynthia and Mike wrote to share how they dared big. They acquired their trawler through JMYS (with help from Rob Piwowarczyk), departed Los Angeles in January 2024, and completed a Viking Crossing in August 2025. Today, they’re spending time in Malta and looking ahead to slowly exploring the Mediterranean.
They crossed with a crew of six, including their 16-year-old grandson, a close friend from Northern California, and their four-year-old Australian Shepherd, Bear. Most of the crew joined in St. John’s, Newfoundland. The photos were taken in the fjords of Greenland, where Cynthia captured the moment while Mike kept watch, navigating icebergs and keeping Golden Days safe.
Cynthia reported moments of second-guessing along the way, but the memories made have been completely off the rails — and well worth it.
