Trawler Transactions

The process of purchasing a trawler begins well before you make an offer.  Jeff was invited to share insights from his experiences as a veteran yacht broker to benefit the readers of  Passagemaker magazine in this series of articles that prepare you as a buyer and outlines much of what you can expect in your upcoming trawler transaction. The fun part is finding the trawler you want to purchase and determining what type of cruising you want to do.   In addition to narrowing down your choice, you need to also be ready for the transaction steps.  To improve your success in closing on the trawler you desire, you have to think about the timing for the survey, have your financing lined up, insurance ready to bind and a home to keep your new to you trawler.  Many of the important “waypoints” from offer to closing are reviewed to help you reach the final destination of ownership!
