Diesel Duck 462 for Sale

Peking was commissioned to provide her original owners with safe global navigation capabilities, including extreme ice latitudes. She has successfully completed over 8,000 nautical miles of cruising. A very desirable Diesel Duck, she has been featured in prestigious magazines and honored with the People’s Choice award at TrawlerFest.

For those with oceanic aspirations, the Diesel Duck designs are renowned for their heavy steel construction and exceptional stability in all sea conditions. Peking is equipped with paravane outriggers with steel stabilizer “fish”, significantly enhancing stability for ocean passages. Numerous DD-462 vessels have successfully completed multiple ocean crossings and circumnavigations.

On deck, she is easy to move about along expansive walk-around decks, bordered by high bulwarks and robust steel railings, ensuring safe access on deck in serious weather conditions. The Diesel Duck designs are steel hull recreational trawlers. They are engineered to withstand high waves and slice through heavy seas with their wave-cresting bow design. Unique to George Buehler, the designer is the versatile concept of a sail-assist trawler – having a reliable main engine to power along, but using her distinctive sail plan for quiet offshore travel and to provide emergency secondary propulsion. Peking is a remarkably fuel-efficient full displacement hull.  Her cruise speed typically consumes only one-gallon-per-hour.  This matched with her substantial 2,000-gallon fuel capacity allows for thousands of miles of non-stop passage making.
