Great Northern is a beautiful DeFever 53 that has lived in a covered boat house on fresh water near Portland, Oregon for the last few years. Her owners purchased her in California and have diligently restored her to excellent condition. She continues to be used actively and is often out on the Pacific fishing.
Great Northern is one of the finest DeFever’s on the market and it is hard to imagine that you would need to spend much money on projects after purchase. She is a 1986 DeFever 53 POC (Performance Offshore Cruiser) and has spent the majority of her last ten years in the Pacific Northwest. Her current owners have taken her on long range trips south to Ensenada, Mexico and north to British Columbia, Canada. Under previous ownership she spent time in Florida. She has been put on the market so that her sellers can attend to other interests.
This is a gorgeous coastal cruising machine that has been exceptionally cared for with many major re-modeling and replacements to keep her looking and showing like a much younger boat. She is the space efficient three stateroom layout, very well equipped to cruise off the grid and capable of long distance non-stop coastal passages. Nearly every system has been upgraded and she has cruised extensively throughout her career receiving regular exercising which is one reason she is in such remarkable condition. Great Northern represents an excellent opportunity where you can buy a spacious DeFever that is extremely well outfitted for an impressively low price. Great Northern boasts all of the comforts you would want in a live aboard and is truly at home in the Pacific Northwest.
